Bodies of Empowerment - Guided by Karla Quintero

$0.00

At times, when managing the complex physics of shared movement, it can be easy to orient inward. In this class, we will push against this tendency, dancing in connection to our environment (other people, the music playing in the room, the space itself, etc). We will improvise, “trying-on” and experimenting with practices that I am researching to support dancing that is in dialogue with our surroundings. Emphasis will be placed on footwork and how we move through the space. Participants can expect to walk and run, shifting weight quickly and rhythmically, and to improvise using these techniques with partners. No prior dance experience needed.
